Part time Finance Co-ordinator

With an exciting number of projects being continually developed, Union St has grown to the point that we now need a create a dedicated role for the co-ordination of our financial organisation.

This will be an initial 3 month trial working 1 day per week, with a view to extending this contract once clear and realistic objectives are met.

Hours and pay

  • £15/hr
  • Initial 3 month contract
  • 8hrs per week, either one full day or two half days
  • Flexible working arrangements, so you can choose which day(s) you’d like to work

Initial Tasks

  • Establishing recurring invoices for all service users
  • Collection of receipts to link to all payments
  • Weekly reconciliation via Xero to enable up to date reports

Ongoing responsibilities

  • Managing the preparation of submissions for Companies House and HMRC for PAYE, Corporation Tax and annual accounts

Future potential

  • In the longer term we will plan to launch a new service offering cloud based financial management to Union St members, with a view to developing and expanding this role

Essential skills and experience

  • Xero cloud accounting
  • Preparation of annual accounts
  • Calculating and submitting VAT
  • Confidence in ensuring timely compliance with Companies House and HMRC

Desirable experience

  • Experience of working in a project or campaign motivated by a social purpose
  • Experience of enabling projects to grow
  • Experience of setting up reporting systems to compare targets with actual performance
  • Ability to help people set-up systems to manage their finances
  • Ability to communicate professionally and successfully with a wide range of people
  • Ability to provide a service to a high level of customer satisfaction
